“I think people identify with artists who are polarizing. It brings out stronger fans when you’re a polarizing artist. And you can’t please everybody, so polarity is good. It wouldn’t be fun if you pleased everybody because then you’re not really creating art. Art is a matter of opinion, it’s subjective and same thing with music- you can’t always please everybody. You gotta do what you’re heart is telling you to do, create what your gut is telling you to create, and if someone likes it, awesome and if other people don’t like it… Oh well.” - Adam Lambert

"I think especially this year, a lot of the writing I did was to write. And if it’s a song that I’m in love with, that feels like it’ll work later down the road, it may end up on the album but it doesn’t necessarily mean it has to."
-Adam Lambert

Avicii + Adam Lambert “Lay Me Down” Lyrics:

(I do realize that these are not all correct, will make adjustments and correct them when we have the real thing!)

La-la-lay me
La-la-lay me
La-la-lay me
La-la-lay me
La-la-lay me
Lay me down

I’ve been weak
things get tough
Sometimes my knees can barely hold me up
I’m no fool, but it’s said
You gotta walk a mile to get outta my head

Gulp it in, taste it up
take a little bit and baby don’t you give up
Count your life, give a damn
You gotta make a move to show me where we can stand
Yeah

Lay me down in darkness
tell me what you see
love is where the heart is
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
(come on)

Lay me down in darkness
tell me what you see
love is where the heart is
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need

I’ve got the time, it’ll be alright yeah
I got the time that you need
yeah
We all bleed, bleed the same
If you get the picture, leave it outta the frame yeah
in the now, take a chance
Make a mess and don’t forget that life is a dance

Gulp it in, taste it up
take a little bit and baby don’t you give up
Count your life, give a damn
You gotta make a move to show me where we can stand

Lay me down in darkness
tell me what you see
love is where the heart is
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need

Lay me down in darkness
tell me what you see
love is where the heart is
come on
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need
show me I’m the one, tell me I’m the one that you need

Show me I’m the one that you need
This is how it’s supposed to be
come on

Lay me
la-la-lay me
la-la-lay me down
Lay me
la-la-lay me
la-la-lay me down
Lay me
la-la-lay me
la-la-lay me down in darkness

"I’m writing music like a crazy person. I’m in love with rock n roll again. I feel like there’s such a change happening in the music scene. People are playing instruments again and this whole thing with Queen has been really inspiring so I’m gonna kind of revisit my rock n roll roots a little bit- the kinds of things that made me wanna audition for Idol in the first place. And that’s been my inspiration." -Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert - “Love Wins Over Glamour” (special song for Life Ball 2013) LYRICS:

I seem to be so fucking lucky lately
I found the key to endless treasure
My heart is pumping and I like what I see
You give me joy and give me pleasure
I’m on an easy ride
I got my jewels I’ve gotta rock it
no one can break my stride
I’m coming hard with heavy pockets
But I’m not gonna keep it

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if you don’t share your love with one another
flash don’t matter
love wins over glamour

(you got love baby)
(you got love)

We’re strong alone with all my riches ‘round me
couldn’t get over all the diamonds
I tried to roll in all my gold but honey
there was no love that it could shine on shine on
Love was far out of sight
I was unsatisfied
I wanna do it right
I need to love tonight

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if ya don’t share your love with one another
flash don’t matter
love wins over glamour
(yeah)

I got the secret code (yeah)
So stand up and get a clue from me
cold hard cash leave you cold
if you get hot then leave and come with me
yeah
come on
come on and get it
come on and get it
come on and get it

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if you don’t share your love with one another
Cause love is the key
To open sesame
You got the key
You want the key
You got the need
You need a key
You got the key
You need a key
You got the key

You got the key baby
it sets you free baby

"My career in three words: surreal, exciting, gotta think of a better third word right? Glam! Glam, yeah sure, why not?" -Adam Lambert

"I always have opinions and I think that being an artist and having an opinion- it goes hand in hand. I think one of the difficulties about being a pop artist in today’s world is that the minute you have a contrary opinion, people get really personally offended. But I don’t mean it to be offensive if I disagree with something that someone feels, I just wanna have a discussion about it. I think that by talking about it and getting passionate and a little friendly healthy debate is really good for the brain and for the spirit and good for arts. It’s good to have strong opinions." -Adam Lambert

I’m pretty hard on myself, I’m my own worst critic. It’s part of who I am. And beyond just vanity, I’m hard on myself with a lot of things. It’s helpful. It keeps me working hard and trying for the best and it keeps me wanting to have a high standard, but it can be a bit exhausting. It would have been interesting to have a life where the publicity wasn’t part of what I do but even before going on Idol I was doing theatre and it’s all about people looking. Of course I would love to be a little less vain, it would be a relief, but it’s not part of what I do.”
-Adam Lambert

"Oh man, I dunno. That’s a big question. I dunno. Biggest compliment I’ve ever received… I mean I think kind of what I was talking about before is if a fan is expressing that they are more open-minded or more happy because of something that I did or said or inspired. I mean, I can’t take credit for that but I feel thankful for that. I feel like that’s the best compliment- somebody that their quality of life has improved because of something I did & that’s beautiful. I love that." -Adam Lambert
