So this happened on October 20th, 2010. This site called The Dirt in Australia had teamed up with this awesome guy named Byron Cooke to interview Adam Lambert. They announced via Twitter that we as fans of Adam should send in video questions. So I did. I actually sent in 3. The first question was would he ever release a complete remixed version of For Your Entertainment. The second question was how do you decide when or when not to kiss TommyJoe Ratliff. And finally the third one was Do you want children someday, could you see yourself being a father, & that’s the one that got chosen! Little did I know how big it would blow up in the media.
I had no idea if the video was going to be actually Adam in person watching my video question & answering it or not. & it wasn’t. It was played for Adam & then he answered over the phone, but that’s still amazing. This is the second time Adam has answered one of my questions & known my name (Kathryn17). The other time, Adam read my twitter question and said my name & answered, and I could see him on the video(: But that didn’t make news around the world. I wasn’t expecting this at all.
When the video was up, the headline read: Video: Adam Lambert To Become A Father? & at that moment I realized something major had happened! I watched the video, my video question was the first of four to get played & answered! Adam replied saying: “Yeah I mean I think that there will come a time where that would be a possibility I think at this point I kinda think it’s kinda far off. Cause feel like I’m just at the beginning of my career & I really wanna put my all into my career & if I were to raise a young person I think I’d wanna give them everything. Ya know I’d wanna give them all of me & so I’d wanna make sure I was in a place where the career could definitely be put on the back burner for ya know, 10 or so years to begin with” So yes, Adam Lambert does want to be a daddy someday!!(:
Anyways, the whole point of writing this was to say how much of a leap it took in the media. I ended up favoriting 18 sites that covered my Adam question. Only a few of them mentioned it was a “fan” who asked him this. Most said it was during an interview or given to the media. Most of the sites that covered it were international. Sites from Australia and India. It even got coverage from MSN! That was probably the biggest. It never got any coverage from the big sites like E! News or VH1 or MTV but I was stoked it got as big as it did because I was not expecting it at all.
So it’s not necessarily 15 minutes of fame because not every site posted the video and not every site said it was a fan who asked that question, however it was my question & there’s proof of that! I’d like to thank Latest Dirt and Byron Cooke for making me a star! LOL!
